A Vail Valley resident for over 30 years, Jenni is a native Californian who grew up in the ski industry at Lake Tahoe and eventually settled in Santa Barbara. She is familiar with resort living. When her parents moved to Vail in the early ‘70s, she and husband Walt came out on vacation from time to time. They decided to make the move here and get back to the mountain life she loved as a child.

They were able to raise their two children in a safe and beautiful environment taking advantage of the world’s best skiing and enjoying favorite summertime activities. An active lifestyle combined with diverse cultural opportunities contributed to the decision of making the area their permanent home.

The Marquez Family:

In 1987, Jenni joined Slifer & Company Real Estate (merged to become SSF) at its landmark Bridge Street office in Vail Village. In 1998, Jenni had the opportunity to join the team at SSF's new Eagle Ranch Sales Center. "Eagle Ranch is something wonderfully new and different," she says. "It’s a great community for locals and the secret is out to 2nd homeowners who have discovered the benefits of better values and high quality.” She should know. She now considers herself somewhat of an expert in the area where she directly participates in listing and selling an average of 50 properties annually from brand new condominiums, townhomes and residential lofts in the Traditional Neighborhood of Eagle Ranch to homesites and single family homes throughout the community. Hard work and dedication to her customers has earned her a “Top Producer” award in her office and the Slifer Smith & Frampton family.

There’s a commonality with her customers that puts her at ease and brings out an enthusiasm for her business. “We’re all here from many walks of life, but for many of the same reasons…lifestyle and environment being high on the list”. She can relate to first time homebuyers, new residents to the area, and locals just moving across town. They are a special part of Jenni’s clientele. “We were all new once and it was a challenge either understanding the buying process or finding friends and daycare,” Jenni remembers. Building her first home in Eagle Ranch and moving west from Singletree, gave her new insights into the building process that helps her homesite buyers.

“Many of us come as visitors or vacationers but stay far longer than we ever intended,” Jenni remarks. Second home owners she has worked with who have opted to spend more than a few weeks a year here, are now spending longer winters and much longer summers. Some of them have even decided to sell the family home and relocate here permanently, spending part of the year here and part in warmer climates. Others can’t find the time to be away from life’s commitments, and want the perfect vacation environment to enjoy family at holidays or entertain friends throughout the year.

A family that loves the outdoors, Jenni & Walt can often be found skiing Vail and Beaver Creek, biking the trails that wind through Eagle Ranch or anxiously awaiting vacation time on a quiet beach. “Now that we’re empty-nesters, life is taking new turns”, Jenni comments. “We enjoy why we live here!”
